The Queen Mother liked a drink and a nap, historian reveals

THE Queen Mother was partial to a strong Martini followed by a nap after lunch, a historian has revealed.

The cocktail contained large amounts of gin and had to be made to her liking.

Historian Alistair Fraser said when she visited Dounreay nuclear site in Caithness staff tried to look after her.

Alistair, a former worker at the site, said: “Clarence House advised that the Queen Mother liked a nap after lunch, and was partial to a Martini cocktail.”...
