seniors with guaranteed health care, conservatives told horror stories about it
'round the political campfire. Ronald Reagan - by then a long-time peddler of
GE toasters, Borax and right-wing Arizonans - typified the sentiment. Medicare,
he admonished, would so encroach on "freedom in this country" we'd be
